Lion-Vallen gets $11.8 million Marine logistics contract

Lion-Vallen Industries has been awarded an $11.8 million contract to manage, support and operate the U.S. Marine Corps warehouse network that distributes infantry combat equipment and protective gear.

The contract from the Marine Corps Logistics Command runs through April 10, 2013. It is to be fulfilled at various locations across the United States and in Japan, the Defense Department said.

Lion-Vallen Industries has provided similar services to the supply chain networks of the Army and Navy. The Marines are part of the Navy.

Lion-Vallen is a business unit of Lion Apparel Inc., a privately owned company based in Vandalia.
