Company 7 BBQ at 1001 S. Main St. (Ohio 48) in Englewood has captured the “best barbecue sauce” award in two of the three sauce categories in the National BBQ News’ 2015 Sauces of Honors competition, which attracted 165 entries.
According to the July print edition of National BBQ News, Company 7’s “Captain Carolina” sauce was declared the best sauce for pork, out of 59 entries, and its “Chief Smoky” won in the category of “Best Sauce for Beef,” out of 50 entries. The same two sauces placed in the top five for chicken.
“We are constantly tweaking and improving our sauces, and decided to enter the competition this year, said Mary Grilliot, co-founder of Company 7 BBQ. “What makes these wins so special is that our fellow competitors are some of the best, most creative, and winningest barbecue providers in the world.”
Company 7 BBQ, with an atmosphere that evokes a 1920s-era firehouse, opened in December 2010.
