Business Furniture retained all 21 employees of Everybody’s, and former owner Bill Kasch will serve as a consultant for an undisclosed period of time, said Steve Schneider, a spokesman for Business Furniture.
Business Furniture acquired Everybody’s in part because the Business Furniture wants to be a much bigger dealer for Steelcase office furniture with expanded territories in multiple states, Schneider said. Everybody’s offers Steelcase products.
In June 2011, Business Furniture announced its expansion into central and upstate Illinois serving Bloomington-Normal, Springfield, Champaign-Urbana, Peoria and the Quad Cities. The company opened a Collaboration Studio in Bloomington, Ill. in March of this year, and they are in the process of opening a showroom conference space in Peoria, Ill.
Business Furniture was founded in 1922. Everybody’s started operations in 1906 and was once part of the former Elder-Beerman Stores Corp.
