Local company gives $1,000 to two charities

Teradata Corp. will give The Foodbank and Hannah’s Treasure Chest a $1000 grant today, as part of the company’s “Celebration of Caring” event, the company said.

“The charitable grant was earned by the associates of the Dayton office for their outstanding dedication to volunteer service,” a Teradata announcement said. “The office has been named the Teradata Celebration of Caring office of the year.”

The company said Dayton employees have raised more than $10,000 and gave nearly 1,000 hours in more than 40 service projects for local charities in 2011.

A check presentation is set for this afternoon at the company’s world headquarters at 10000 Innovation Drive in Miami Twp.

Teradata, which provides data warehousing products and services, has about 450 local employees and 6,000 worldwide.
