1. Elder-Beerman set to hire for holiday season
The Bon-Ton Stores Inc., parent company of Elder-Beerman department stores, is set to host a hiring event later this week. All stores — including Elder-Beerman, Boston Store, Caron’s, Bergner’s, and Yonkers stores — will host a holiday hiring event on Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Applicants can apply online or stop by any store.
2. Amazon set to hire 120K for seasonal positions
Amazon is looking to hire 120,000 employees for the holiday season, and positions in Ohio are open. The company announced it is hiring across the U.S. for its fulfillment centers, sorting centers, and customer service sites. Last year, more than 14,000 seasonal positions transitioned to regular, full-time roles after the holidays.
3. Fazoli’s looks to hire 500 employees in hiring day event
During the all-day event on Oct. 18, managers will review applications and conduct interviews before making on-the-spot offers to hundreds of applicants. The company said last year’s event attracted nearly 1,200 job candidates, resulting in 422 new hires.
4. Target hosts two-day job hiring event
All Target stores hosted a two-day hiring event in early October.
5. Kohl’s set to hire 1,000 seasonal positions in Monroe
A Kohl’s e-commerce fulfillment center in Monroe is looking to hire 1,000 seasonal employees. The facility, located at 3500 Salzman Road, hosted an on-site job fair last week.
6. Time Warner hiring for 50 jobs in Kettering
The company is looking to hire field technicians and customer service representatives during a job fair. The job fair, located at 4548 Presidential Way, was on Oct. 13.
7. Elder-Beerman parent company to hire up to 13K for holiday season
The Bon-Ton Stores Inc., parent of Elder-Beerman department stores, is hiring for 13,000 positions before the holiday season. The company will hire associates for all its store locations to service customers during the busy season. Bon-Ton is also looking to hire an additional 500 additional employees for its distribution centers and its e-commerce fulfillment center.
Other companies have already hosted jobs fairs for the season. The U.S. Postal Service had approximately 110 temporary positions available in Dayton, and hosted a job fair in mid-September. Macy's also announced it was looking to hire 83,000 seasonal workers, and hosted a national job fair on Sept. 30.
