Meijer offers free Wi-Fi at stores

Midwest retailer Meijer now has free Wi-Fi capability in all of it stores to allow customers to more easily access digital coupons, company officials announced.

More than 2 million Meijer shoppers have now subscribed to the retailer’s free mPerks digital coupon program, and the company has made significant investments to make digital savings easier for its customers, officials said.

Meijer’s open Wi-Fi network allows mPerks subscribers to review and clip digital coupons while at the store.

Officials said the Wi-Fi investment also helps the nearly 650,000 Meijer mobile app users to manage their shopping on their handheld device.

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer operates 204 supercenters and grocery stores throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.
