Raytheon Co.’s Middletown, Ohio location will see a part of a newly announced $1 billion-plus U.S. Navy contract.

Raytheon Missile Systems has been awarded a $1,030,728,427 contract for Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) full rate production requirements and spares, the Department of Defense announced recently.

This contract provides for the multi-year procurement of fiscal 2019-2023 Standard Missile-6 to include all up rounds, flight test rounds and spares.

Work will be performed in Middletown, East Camden, Ark.; Huntsville, Ala.; the United Kingdom; Andover, Mass. and elsewhere. The work is expected to be complete by October 2026.

Fiscal 2019 weapons procurement funding in the amount of $269,681,221 will be obligated at the time of the award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year, the department said.

Raytheon also has a Middletown location in Rhode Island. The Department of Defense announcement specifies that the Middletown, Ohio site will see part of the work from the new contract, however.

Also, Lockheed Martin Space’s $58.2 million contract with the Navy will bring work to Cincinnati, a separate Department of Defense announcement said.

That contract is a modification to exercise options under a previously awarded and announced contract for Trident II missile production and support, the department said.
