T-Mobile to open new store in Huber Heights

HUBER HEIGHTS — T-Mobile will be opening a new store next month at 6011 Brandt Pike in Huber Heights.

Trisha Reents, the city’s economic development assistant, said T-Mobile applied for occupancy earlier this week, and according to T-Mobile, the store is scheduled to open June 6.

T-Mobile officials said the new location will be a T-Mobile partner-owned store by T-Mobile premium retailer Amtel.

Amtel is slated to open eight new stores, including the one in Huber Heights, over the next 90 days in the Dayton, Cincinnati and Kentucky markets.

Amtel typically employs six employees per location, and approximately 50-plus employees in these eight slated locations.

Amtel has a total of 38 T-Mobile retail stores built and in planning throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Texas and California.

The Huber Heights location is part of T-Mobile’s global design concept -- a redesign announced in September 2011 that affects nearly 400 new and remodeled stores around the country. STEVEN MATTHEWS
