National City branches to convert to PNC in February

National City Bank offices in Dayton will convert to the PNC Bank nameplate in February 2010, Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group Inc. said Monday, Nov. 16.

Operations in Cincinnati and Columbus, as well as Kentucky and southeastern Indiana also will convert to PNC in February, the bank said. PNC acquired National City in December 2008 for $5.6 billion.

On Nov. 7, National City Mortgage, which has operations in Miami Twp., Montgomery County, converted to PNC mortgage.

With $1.9 billion in deposits, National City ranks second in deposit market share in the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. National City operates 37 offices in Greene, Miami, Montgomery and Preble counties.

Also Monday, PNC announced that it has converted 240 National City branches in Youngstown as well as Pennsylvania and Florida.
