New 2nd & Charles book store opens

Former Books & Co. will sell used and bargain entertainment items.

KETTERING — The new 2nd & Charles store, which specializes in used and bargain-priced books, CDs, DVDs and other entertainment products, has opened at the site of the former Books & Co. store in the Town & Country Shopping Center.

Books & Co.’s parent, Books-A-Million, has opened two other stores under the 2nd & Charles nameplate. Books-A-Million, based in Birmingham, Ala., announced last month it would close the Books & Co. store and convert it into a 2nd & Charles shop.

The Books & Co. store at The Greene remains open.

2nd & Charles buys and sells books, CDs, vinyl records, DVDs and Blu-Ray, video games, comic books, iPods and iPads, eReaders and video game consoles.

Hours for the Kettering store will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
