Crossroads BBQ & More will be operated by McGee and his wife Lauren, and it is owned by Lauren’s parents, Greg and Susan Sutton of Beavercreek.
McGee said he grew up in Fairborn and is familiar with the restaurant space, which previously held Roma’s Pizza and Pasta and GoodFella’s Grille. He has been cooking barbecue for several years, and said he believes a restaurant with that concept will do well in Fairborn.
The broader region’s barbecue-restaurant market has gotten more competitive in recent years, with the addition of restaurants such as OinkADoodleMoo (multiple locations), Company 7 (Englewood) and Hickory River (Tipp City) opening in a market that already included long-established eateries such as Old Hickory Bar-B-Q (Riverside), Hickory Bar-B-Q (Dayton) and Rudy’s Smoke House (Springfield).
Crossroads will offer barbecue brisket, ribs, pulled pork and pulled chicken, served with house-made side dishes such as green beans, macaroni and cheese and cole slaw. And the menu also will include non-barbecue options such as sandwiches, subs and pizza.
The restaurant will deliver, and plans call for adding catering in the months ahead, McGee said. It also will have a full liquor license at opening, McGee said.
