This will be the second Dayton-area location for both Jersey Mike’s and Smoothie King. Ted Tolliver of Mason, the franchise owner for the Jersey Mike’s at 6002 Far Hills Ave. in Centerville and for another location in Cincinnati, said the Beavercreek location will seat about 50 and will employ about 15.
Tolliver said Pentagon Place’s proximity to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Wright State University, the medical center and the Mall at Fairfield Commons was attractive, and Beavercreek “fits the demographics that Jersey Mike’s is looking for.” The New Jersey-based sub chain is looking to open 150 new locations nationwide this year, Tolliver said.
Eric Pierce-French of Huber Heights, co-owner with wife Lynne Pierce-French of the first Dayton-area Smoothie King franchise that opened in March 2011 at 2321 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Miami Twp., said the couple’s business plan calls for opening three smoothie shops in the Dayton area within a five-year period. Several customers who visited the Miami Twp. shop asked for a location in Beavercreek, Pierce-French said. No specific site has been determined for the third store, although Pierce-French said the couple would like to open in the Vandalia-Englewood area. The new Beavercreek Smoothie King will seat eight and will employ 10.
Pentagon Place will include an outdoor dining area which will be shared by the center’s three tenants and which will seat about 20 people.
Ashford Construction also built and developed the recently opened 8,300-square-foot “Shops at 3000” retail center at Far Hills Avenue and East Dorothy Lane in Kettering.
