New frozen-yogurt shop now open in Kettering

KETTERING — The Orange Leaf Yogurt location at 424 E. Stroop Road in the Town & Country Shopping Center that we told you about in October has opened and is already planning to expand its seating in the coming months, according to franchise owner Brad Shipe.

The frozen-yogurt shop has enjoyed a “very warm reception” since it opened just before Christmas, Shipe said. Work is continuing on signage for the new shop, and plans call for construction of a patio that will seat up to 40 people when it opens in late spring, Shipe said.

Shipe said he is scouting locations in the Beavercreek area for a second location and may open two additional Orange Leaf shops elsewhere in the Dayton area. The Oklahoma City-based chain has more than 200 stores across the country.

Orange Leaf Yogurt employs eight people at its Kettering store, which will host a grand-opening celebration sometime in February, Shipe said.

The yogurt shop’s hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (937) 299-9939.
