Following the closing of Sound City Music, a new store has opened in its place.
Sound City, which was located at 3 N. Ridge Ave., closed at the end of 2016. John Hendry, who worked as a repair technician for Sound City, opened a new business in its place.

Trojan City Music opened at 106 E. Main St. in a 6,500-square-foot building in Troy in January. Hendry said they will throw a grand opening celebration in March.

In addition to selling instruments and other inventory, the new shop offers music and vocal lessons. With more space available, Trojan City hopes to have a more “community-focused” feel — possibly hosting acoustic shows and offering band rehearsal area.
