New prototype KFC going up in Miamisburg

A new prototype KFC restaurant is under construction at 253 N. Springboro Pike (Ohio 741) at Mall Woods Drive north of the Dayton Mall, according to Miamisburg city officials.

The 3,000-square-foot restaurant will accommodate 63 diners and will have a drive-through window, Miamisburg City Planner Jo Scott said.

The new restaurant replaces a KFC that had been located on Ohio 741 at Prestige Plaza Drive across from the Dayton Mall. That KFC was demolished to make way for the expasion of an adjacent Speedway store, Scott said.

A spokeswoman for KFC said Tuesday that the new restaurant is scheduled to open in late September.
