MIAMISBURG – A new fine-dining restaurant is coming to Miamisburg.

Maria Walusis of Springboro has operated a catering business called Nibbles Culinary Entertainment for about four years, and on Monday, she signed a lease to open a restaurant called Nibbles at 105 S. Second St. in downtown Miamisburg.

Walusis said she expects to open by the end of the year. Initially, she will be open to the public on a limited basis – probably on Thursday and Friday nights only – and use the restaurant space as a private-dinners-and-events venue on other nights of the week. She also will remain available to cater off-site events.

“I’ve been working toward this for a long time,” Walusis said. “I didn’t want to be locked into a seven-day-a-week restaurant schedule.”

Walusis has served as an apprentice at the now-closed l’Auberge in Kettering, and at Cumin restaurant in the Cincinnati area.

The 800-square-foot Miamisburg space will seat about 35 and offers additional seating for about 34 on two patios. Walusis said the menu will be “global, featuring fresh seasonal ingredients and working with local sources whenever possible.”

The business owner said she will apply for a liquor license and will focus on local craft beers, cocktails and wines. She will also offer a special dessert list each week.
