AT&T to offer Windows phones

DALLAS — AT&T and Microsoft Corp. on Monday introduced new phones based on Windows Phone 7, Microsoft’s new mobile operating system. The carrier will offer three Windows Phone 7 devices:

  • HTC Surround: The first smart phone to include integrated Dolby Mobile and SRS surround sound speakers.
  • LG QuantumT: Features a slide-out keyboard for use of Office Mobile and a preloaded application that allows users to wirelessly stream videos, music and pictures from the phone to other electronics devices.
  • Samsung FocusT: AT&T's thinnest Windows Phone with a Super AMOLEDT screen on a 9.9 mm-thin touch screen phone.

Each new Windows Phone from AT&T will include AT&T U-verse Mobile, which allows users to download TV shows on their smart phone and manage DVR recordings.

The Samsung Focus will be available Nov. 8, and the HTC Surround and LG Quantum will be available in time for the holidays, according to AT&T.
