Pharmacy expanding into Miami County

TIPP CITY - The Vandalia based Hock’s Pharmacy is expanding into Miami County.

Plans for a 4,000 square foot commercial building to house the pharmacy at 5205 S. County Road 25A were reviewed July 10 by the Tipp City Planning Board. The location is north of the 25A intersection with Ohio 571. The board approved both a lot split to create the new store site and a project site plan.

Dominic Bartone, president of Hock’s Pharmacy and Medical Supply, said Thursday the Tipp City location is the first of a planned expansion to the north and west. Hock’s Pharmacy was founded in 1948 in Vandalia and purchased by Bartone and his wife, Deborah, in 1985. Hock’s has a pharmacy on South Dixie in Vandalia and a Medical Supply store on National Road, Vandalia.

Bartone said he hopes to have the Tipp City location open by year’s end. The Tipp City project will cost around $1 million.
