Piqua auto parts maker expands to new facility

A Piqua auto parts maker is expanding into a new 20,000-square-foot facility, according to the industrial real estate firm that brokered the deal.

Nitto Denko Automotive Ohio Inc., located at 1620 S. Main St., is expanding operations to 220 Fox Drive in Piqua. Company officials said the expansion will help create capacity for anticipated growth of the automotive industry.

Nitto Denko selected the site because of its proximity to the company’s current plant, and plans to start distribution from the new facility this summer. The company doesn’t plan to hire additional workers at this time, officials said.

Nitto Denko Automotive Ohio custom fabricates parts for the automotive industry and other markets. A division of Nitto Denko Corp., the company employs nearly 200 workers locally.

The deal was brokered by Tim Echemann of Industrial Property Brokers, a full service real estate company located in Sidney.
