Plus Technologies offers secure Rx printing

Plus Technologies, a Dayton-area software company, has developed technology for the printing of tamper-resistant prescriptions on plain paper, according to a media release.

The technology, developed in conjunction with a major printer company, can reduce prescription printing costs and increase operational efficiency, officials said.

Federal regulations require health care organizations to prevent the unauthorized copying of completed or blank prescription forms; erasure or modification of prescription information; or the use of counterfeit prescription forms.

Because of these regulations, printing prescriptions often requires specialized printers with locking trays, pre-printed forms and other security processes.

Plus Technologies’ software product uses pantograph and micro-print technologies to print tamper-resistant prescriptions on plain paper, instead of pre-printed Rx media, officials said.

Plus Technologies is located at 1860 Lyons Road in Washington Twp.
