Project REACH is dedicated to securing a real-time, mobile application to simplify and speed access to locality-based information, services and resources for the homeless and the caregivers and caseworkers who serve them. The initiative is a collaborative effort among the VA, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Health and Human Services and the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.
“As a technology organization, it’s very rewarding for us to have the opportunity to focus our skills and development energies on a worthy social cause — the elimination of veterans’ homelessness,” said Gary Sofo, Qbase’s senior vice president, in a statement.
Qbase Homeless REACH provides software applications that are accessible on the Internet, smartphones and tablet devices, officials said. The application can be downloaded free from Apple iTunes or Google Play.
Officials said Qbase is donating all award money from the Project REACH competition to the Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Memory Foundation in memory of Lt. Christopher E. Mosko, a family friend of a Qbase employee.
Founded in 2005, Qbase is based in Ohio and Washington D.C. Investors took over the company in 2010.
