“There’s no emotion,” said Green, 80.
He hopes the merger between his firm and Comprehensive Realtors, which had been led by his friend, Gary Yagley, will give Green a chance to share what he knows about commercial real estate with other agents.
The merger, which closed June 15, reunited two men who’d worked together in the 1980s before going their separate ways.
The new company will have 22 licensed agents, eight of whom will focus mostly on commercial real estate and leasing.
Green says he will focus mostly on mentoring sales agents while Yagley will devote his time to commercial sales and leasing
The post-merger company will continue to sell homes, too, Green said. With the residential market still recovering, though, Green says teaching the agents about the commercial sector will give them “an opportunity to learn the business and get bigger paydays.”
Green says the resulting firm will chase big deals. But the goal isn’t to compete with larger commercial companies like Cassidy Turley or Miller-Valentine Group. Instead, its commercial efforts will focus on such areas as selling or leasing smaller spaces to start-up restaurants and retailers or business that are expanding.
“That’s where there’s always a market, good times and bad,” he said.
The company will have its sales offices at 901 Congress Park Drive, Washington Twp., while business offices will be located at 774 Yankee Trace Drive, Centerville.
The company also will continue operating Comprehensive Property Management.
