Reynolds to offer electronic payments for auto dealers

Reynolds and Reynolds, the Kettering-based maker of auto dealer information systems, has signed an agreement to offer point-of-sale, electronic payment services for automotive dealerships, company officials announced Monday.

Reynolds will partner with Atlanta-based Global Payments Inc. to offer the latter company’s payments technology across Reynolds’ dealership management system platforms, officials said.

Officials said the agreement will allow Reynolds to deliver secure, cost-effective and efficient electronic payment services in-store, online and on mobile devices.

“Consumers today expect their experience with the dealership to mirror their experiences with other retailers …,” said Ron Lamb, Reynolds’ president, in a statement. “To meet those expectations, dealers are looking for those tools that support a familiar shopping experience for consumers. Certainly, one of those tools is secure, efficient payment processing with the dealership.”

Adding payment technology also will deliver productivity benefits for dealership personnel, Lamb said.
