Reynolds offers 20 scholarships to area residents

The Reynolds and Reynolds Co. Foundation has funded 45 merit scholarships for 2010, including more than 20 scholarships for students from the Dayton area, the company said.

Most of the scholarships were granted under a long-standing program of merit-based awards for undergraduate study by children of Reynolds employees, the company said.

The foundation is also funding the Reynolds and Reynolds Leadership Scholars Program at Wright State University, scholarships for students at Sinclair Community College and scholarships awarded to Ohio Army National Guard members and their families.

Reynolds joined with Sinclair in 2010 to provide scholarships to students who are enrolled in Sinclair’s two-year Automotive Technology program, the company said. This program prepares students for positions at automobile dealerships and in automotive-related industries.

In 2010, Reynolds also funded four scholarships that benefit enlisted members of the Ohio National Guard.

In 2009, the company established the Reynolds and Reynolds Leadership Scholars Program at Wright State. The program provides merit-based scholarships for students entering Wright State’s College of Engineering and Computer Science. Ten students received scholarships for the 2010–11 academic year, the company said.
