SAIC opens $3.7M research facility in Beavercreek

Defense contractor Science Applications International Corp. has opened its $3.7 million research facility at College Park in Beavercreek.

The new, 87,000-square-foot brick building at 3745 Pentagon Blvd., next to Clark State Community College’s Greene Center, will support the design, research and development of manned and unmanned aircraft systems, company officials said.

“The new facility in Beavercreek will enable SAIC to expand our existing capabilities to align with the Air Force’s unmanned aircraft systems research and development and testing vision,” said Dennis Andersch, the company’s senior vice president.

SAIC currently employs more than 450 scientists, engineers, infrastructure support and other workers in Beavercreek, with many supporting customers at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. “This expansion will continue to bring new jobs to the region within the next few years,” Andersh said.

Headquartered in McLean, Va., SAIC has 41,000 employees worldwide.
