Second hotel coming to Austin Landing

The developers of Austin Landing announced this morning a second hotel will be built in the mixed-use development.

Groundbreaking for an Extended Stay Residence Inn may occur as early as this June, according to a news release from RG Properties, Austin Landing’s developer. The Residence Inn at Austin Landing will have 100 rooms, expandable to 125, and will be built on 2.2 acres of land.

The new hotel is being developed by Austin Landing Associates LTD, which also owns the existing Hilton Garden Inn within Austin Landing, RG Properties officials said. It will be built between Kroger and Kohl’s near Ohio 741, RG Properties spokeswoman Kayla Long said this afternoon.

“We’re so pleased that (Austin Landing Associates partners) Doug Steinke, Tom Shoemaker, and their group will be bringing another high-end hotel to Austin Landing,” said Jeff Stickel, developer for RG Properties. “It speaks volumes that they are interested in making another significant investment in Austin Landing.”

Steinke said Austin Landing “offers all the amenities that our guests desire — entertainment, shopping, and restaurants.”

Marriott Residence Inns are designed for extended stays and include fully equipped kitchens, complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi and grocery delivery service.
