Spinnaker opens centers in Atlanta and LA

Spinnaker Coating LLC, a Troy-based manufacturer of adhesive coated papers and films, announced the expansion of its slitting and distribution network with the opening of two new company-owned and operated facilities in metro Atlanta and the greater Los Angeles area.

Spinnaker also distributes its pressure-sensitive products from facilities in Chicago, New York and Troy. With the opening of the new centers, nearly 90 percent of existing U.S. label converting capacity will be within a one-day delivery range of a Spinnaker distribution point, company officials said.

The Atlanta facility is fully operational; the Los Angeles facility is scheduled to open Sept. 17.

“These additional locations will add further value by decreasing transit times and costs to label converters throughout the southeastern and western United States,” said Brady Glett, the company’s vice president of roll products.

Spinnaker will exhibit its products at Labelexpo Americas 2012, a label and package printing technology trade show from Sept. 11-13 in Chicago.

Founded in 1928 in Troy, Spinnaker Coating develops, manufactures and markets adhesive-coated paper and film constructions for conversion by printers and industrial users into marketing, identifying, promoting, labeling and decorating applications. The company is owned by its employees through an employee stock ownership plan.
