Sutton’s Foods changed its business hours Friday, effective immediately, ahead of the store’s planned closure.

New hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays.

“At some point in time we will be closing,” President Josh Urlage said.

The store does not have a closing date, but it won’t be long for the family grocery in business since 1934 at 605 N. Main St. in Arcanum.

“We are not still stocking inventory,” Urlage said.

Sutton’s in July 2019 closed its Union City store, where it opened in September 2017 at a former Marsh.

The employees have been let go over the last two days, and now only the four family members — Josh and Shala Urlage and Kirby and Lori Sutton — have been working along with a few folks who are volunteering to help out, Josh Urlage said.

At the time of the Union City store closing, Lori Sutton said they couldn’t compete in the market, and that they were working with experts to determine how to keep the legacy store in Arcanum operating.
