Teradata acquires mobile marketing firm

Miami Twp.-based Teradata Corp.has acquired an Israel-based mobile marketing software-as-a-service firm to accelerate the company’s growth in the digital marketing space, officials announced Tuesday.

Teradata’s purchase of Appoxee closed Dec. 17, 2014. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Appoxee’s mobile push notification and in-app messaging automation marketing tools will be integrated into Teradata Integrated Marketing Cloud, effective immediately. They also will be integrated with the Teradata Digital Marketing Center.

Officials said the acquisition will boost Teradata Marketing Applications’ growth in the digital marketing space by providing a range of mobile capabilities that complement Teradata’s Integrated Marketing Cloud, particularly in the areas of omnichannel marketing and real-time customer interaction.

Founded in 2011, Appoxee works with brands, agencies and publishers to serve more than 400 million users worldwide with over a billion messages per month.

Teradata is an analytics, data warehousing and marketing applications and services company that serves more than 2,600 customers worldwide. The company has about 10,000 workers worldwide, including more than 400 in the Dayton region.
