Teradata exec named a top U.S. tech officer

A Teradata executive has been named the No. 4 chief technology officer in the nation, company officials announced Monday.

Stephen Brobst, Teradata’s chief technology officer (CTO), was selected for the honor by research firm ExecRank, which screened more than a quarter of the 10,000 CTOs in the U.S., officials said.

The top three CTOS named for 2014 hold positions at Amazon.com, Tesla Motors and Intel.

Officials said the rankings are based on statistical and algorithmic analysis of executive and company performance, and are the result of research and feedback from evaluation committees and top CTOs.

Brobst was ranked No. 14 in 2012.

Miami Twp.-based Teradata Corp. is an analytics, data warehousing and marketing applications and services company. The company has about 10,000 workers worldwide, including more than 400 in the Dayton region.
