Think Patented acquires Chisano Marketing

Miamisburg-based printing and marketing company Think Patented announced Wednesday that it will acquire Chisano Marketing Communications Inc., a marketing services company also located in Miamisburg.

Think Patented officials said the purchase accelerates the company’s strategic plan for growth in marketing fulfillment and technology integration. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

About 20 Chisano employees will transition to Think Patented’s 75,000-square-foot facility at 2490 CrossPointe Drive over the next two to three months, said David McNerney, Think Patented’s director of sales and marketing.

Chisano Marketing’s owners, Tom and Carolyn Chisano, will continue to provide account supervision during the transition period.

“We think it is a great addition,” McNerney said. “They have had a long-time, positive name in the Dayton marketplace, and it really helps beef up some of our capabilities that we can extend to our clients.”

Think Patented provides offset and digital printing, direct mail services, literature and product fulfillment, and website development and integration. The company employed 120 workers before the acquisition.

Founded in 1986, Chisano provides marketing consultation, digital printing, fulfillment, and other services including call center capabilities, “which is something we don’t have today,” McNerney said.

McNerney said the acquisition does not include Chisano subsidiary Chisano Marketing Group, an advertising agency headquartered in Orlando, Fla. The subsidiary will continue to operate as a stand-alone organization.
