Third new restaurant to open in downtown Dayton

DAYTON — The co-owner of Agnes All Natural Grill says she and her husband will move her restaurant from its current North Keowee Street location to 135 E. Fourth St. at South St. Clair St. shortly after the first of the year.

Agnes All Natural Grill becomes the third restaurant to announce a downtown Dayton opening in recent days, following last week’s news about today’s opening of the Downtown Grill & Cafe at at 130 W. Second St. and the upcoming opening of Serendipity American Bistro, which is projected for late this month at 23 S. St. Clair St. around the corner from Agnes All Natural Grill.

The move will allow the restaurant to have indoor seating and was prompted by customer demand, according to Nicole Estremera, who owns Agnes All Natural Grill with her husband Jose. The current location at 1438 N. Keowee St., which opened in August 2011, offers drive-through, walk-up, and carry-out service and has outdoor seating, but no indoor seating. It will remain open until renovations on the new location are complete.

“We’re so excited to be a part of downtown Dayton development and to expand our customer base,” Estremera said.

The new restaurant’s seating capacity is not yet set, but Estremera said the seating may reach 100 diners inside, and another 20 on a patio. The restaurant is projected to open in January or February.

Plans call for the restaurant to offer catering and to be open weekdays, although the Estremeras may expand those hours as business warrants. They are also considering applying for a license to serve beer and wine.

Her husband and his family operated restaurants in Trinidad, Estremera said. The Agnes All Natural Grill menu includes Turkey Legs, Chicken Wings, Tilapia or Whiting Fish Sandwiches, Veggie Wraps, Beef or Turkey Burgers, and daily specials such as Oxtail Stew and Curry Chicken.
