The expansion to a new day sort operation, along with a projected growth in shipments, is expected to increase the hub’s workforce to more than 3,300 from the current 2,400 employees, the company said in a release Thursday.
In order to fill these positions, DHL is holding a job fair next Saturday, March 4, at the CVG Centre in Erlanger, Ky. Those hired should be ready to begin work as soon as pre-employment processing is complete and no later than May 1 when the new operation is scheduled to begin, the company said.

“We are excited to leverage our newly expanded Americas Hub and welcome talented potential candidates to fill these new positions,” Mike Parra, chief executive, DHL Express Americas, said in the company’s statement. “As we look to the future, we know the continued investment in motivated people is the key to ensuring that we meet the demands of our customers and have the ability to handle the continued growth and expansion that will occur at our CVG Hub location.”
This latest expansion features a new north ramp that’s built on 45 acres of land and provides parking space for 16 additional planes, bringing the hub’s total capacity to 65 aircraft gates, the company said.
The expansion also includes additional automated sorting capability and 40 new reload positions that will enhance the hub’s ability to handle the growing shipment volume expected to be seen in the United States and throughout the Americas. It also adds new storage and warehouse space for ramp equipment and shipping containers.
DHL has invested more than $280 million in its Americas Hub at the CVG airport since 2009.
