Ohio dominated the survey with a total of nine Top Shops, followed by California’s seven, Wisconsin’s five and Michigan’s four.
Companies earning Top Shops distinction averaged about $2.7 million in gross sales off each finishing line, according to the magazine. In addition, those firms saw an average of 21 percent growth in their business from 2013, when the survey average was 8 percent.
