Two Dayton-area steakhouses to close, employees say

Customers of the two Dayton-area Lone Star Steakhouse restaurants — at 251 N. Springboro Pike (Ohio 741) near the Dayton Mall and at 6868 Miller Lane in Butler Twp. — have been told the restaurants will close after dinner service on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Employees at each location who asked not to be named confirmed the closings. An employee of the Springboro Pike Lone Star said the restaurant employs about 50 people. The employees received advance notice of the closing, and many have been able to land other jobs or are interviewing for other jobs, the employee said. Lone Star Steakhouse’s Middletown location will stay open, the employee said.

A spokeswoman for the Plano, Texas chain of restaurants declined to answer questions about the apparent upcoming closings.

“Out of respect to our patrons, our guests and our employees, we don’t disclose individual plans for restaurants,” the spokeswoman said in a voicemail response to a request for information. “Thanks so much for your interest.”
