UDRI, Beavercreek company awarded $99M defense contract

UES Inc., of Beavercreek, and the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) have been awarded a $99,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for scientific research.

This contract provides for scientific exploration to develop enabling materials for advanced high performance military weapon systems and emerging applications, an announcement from the Department of Defense said.

Work will be performed at the Air Force Research Laboratory, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and is expected to be complete by Aug. 21, 2024, the DoD said.

This contract is the result of a competitive acquisition and two offers were received, the government said.

Fiscal 2019 research and development funds in the amount of $4,341,500 are being obligated on task orders at the time of award.

Air Force Research Laboratory awarded the contract.

UES and UDRI have worked together in the past, on a power generator for a NASA Mars lander.
