Want Pappy Van Winkle? Here’s how to get a bottle from Kroger

If you want to get your hands on a highly coveted bottle of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon, this week might be your chance.

Kroger stores in Kentucky are offering customers the chance to purchase their own bottle of Pappy Van Winkle at Louisville Division Kentucky Kroger Wine & Spirit Shops on Friday. There are 47 shops in the state.

Entries will only be accepted for raffle on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“Pappy is rich in lore, scandal and history,” said Erin Grant, corporate affairs manager for the Louisville Division of Kroger, in a statement. “Each Kentucky Wine and Spirits Shop will only receive a few of these highly coveted bottles.”

Customers have to be 21 years or older to enter, and they do not need to be present to win. Each shop will draw a winner at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The winner will have 48 hours to purchase the bottle after they receive the call. Pappy Van Winkle prices range from $59.99 to $99.99.

Ohio will expand its holiday bourbon lottery this year to give more of the Buckeye state’s bourbon enthusiasts the opportunity to purchase some of the most sought-after spirits on the market, including, yes, the Pappy Van Winkle 23-year that to some aficionados is the Holy Grail of bourbon.

Ohio’s Pappy Van Winkle bourbon lottery to expand this year with more bottles, online entries 

Ohio Division of Liquor Control Superintendent Jim Canepa announced today, Nov. 14, that the 2018 Ohio Bottle Lottery begins at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 and runs through 11:59 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21. 

Ohioans can enter online without fussing with a paper ticket by going to www.com.ohio.gov/liqr/BottleLottery after the lottery begins. All entries, whether paper or online, will have an equal chance of winning. Learn more details here.
