Well known Dayton executive, CareSource Foundation CEO to retire

The leader of CareSource’s foundation plans to retire in January.

Dan McCabe, CEO of the CareSource Foundation and also chief of staff for the Dayton-based insurance company, worked at many of large Dayton companies for the last 30 years.

McCabe held roles at AT&T and NCR Corporation and was also in leadership positions with Dayton Power & Light (now AES).

“Dan started his career in Dayton working for a legacy corporation with a strong history in the region, and he’s ending his career with a company that’s now defining Dayton’s future,” Chris Kershner, president and CEO, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement.

He joined CareSource in 2012 as chief administrative officer In 2020, he became chief of staff for CareSource and CEO of the CareSource Foundation.

The CareSource Foundation paid out $1.65 million in grants and contributions in 2019 and $970,500 in 2018.
