Woolpert acquires California tech services company

Beavercreek-based engineering and design services firm Woolpert Inc. has acquired Kings Canyon Technology, a professional services firm based in Reedley, Calif., that provides software, hardware, and implementation services to public and private agencies.

Woolpert officials said the acquisition will give the company a West Coast presence and strengthen the software implementation services it offers to clients nationwide. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Kings Canyon Technology has doubled in size for each of the past two years. “We are excited to support that growth and look forward to bringing added value to KCT’s clients as well as Woolpert’s clients through a mutually beneficial partnership,” said Mike Flannery, Woolpert president and chief executive, in a statement.

Founded in 2003, Kings Canyon Technology is a veteran-owned business that has provided permitting and land licensing software implementation services to clients that include the City of Sacramento, Sacramento County, the City of New Orleans and the State of Oregon.

The addition of Kings Canyon Technology now makes Woolpert one of the nation’s largest professional service groups dedicated to asset management and permitting services, said Scott Cattran, Woolpert senior vice president and director of infrastructure management services.

Founded in 1911, Woolpert is a design, geospatial and infrastructure consulting firm. Woolpert has about 600 employees at 22 U.S. offices, including 177 at its Beavercreek headquarters.
