Yaskawa Motoman Robotics to dedicate new facility Oct. 6

MIAMISBURG — Yaskawa Motoman Robotics, which makes and sells industrial robotic machines used in manufacturing, plans an Oct. 6 ceremony to formally dedicate the $17.5 million building that it moved its employees into in June.

The midday event will be open to invited guests. The company’s new home at Interstate 75 and the Austin Boulevard interchange absorbed its employees and operations from former locations in West Carrollton and Troy.

Motoman Robotics is part of Yaskawa Electric Corp., based in Japan. Robotics accounted for 26 percent of the parent company’s business for the fiscal year ended in March 2011, Yaskawa reported.
