2-year-old boy dies in Columbus shooting

A 2-year-old boy was shot to death Wednesday night in Columbus.

The shooting happened shortly before 8 p.m. inside a home in the 300 block of North Monroe Avenue near the east side of Columbus, our media partner WBNS-TV in Columbus reported.

The toddler was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where the child later died.

Police said the shooting is under investigation and that they have one person detained, WBNS reported.
