Clay Aiken has made quite a journey from your typical boy-next-door in Raleigh, North Carolina, to runner-up on the second season of Fox’s hit show American Idol, to a multi-platinum selling recording artist and one of the world’s most beloved performers. His debut album, Measure of a Man, was deemed "the best pop album of 2003" by Billboard. Single "This Is the Night" became the best-selling single of 2003, and "Invisible" was an airplay hit on top 40 radio.
But it is Aiken’s down-home personality and warm heart that have endeared him to so many fans. His charitable work, like co-founding The Bubel/Aiken Foundation to promote inclusion of special-needs children, is a great example of his dedication to make a positive difference in the world.
And just last year, Aiken released his first book, which contains inspirational stories about people who had an impact on his life and the lessons he learned from those experiences.
American Idol was just the beginning of Clay Aiken's career. He is a bona fide success on the charts, on the road and in the hearts of millions of devoted fans.
