Dicke named to Ohio Arts Council

Gov. John Kasich has appointed James F. Dicke II of New Bremen to the Ohio Arts Council board.

Dicke, one of the Dayton Art Institute’s most devoted supporters, is chairman and CEO of Crown Equipment Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of electric forklift trucks and material handling equipment.

Dicke is chairman emeritus of the art museum, an honoree of the National Academy of Design, and recently served on the Smithsonian National Board and as chairman of commissioners of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

In addition to being a major art collector, he is an accomplished artist and photographer and the 2007 recipient of the Governor’s Awards for the Arts in the Arts Patron category.
