DEERFIELD TWP. — The Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance, Deerfield Twp. and the ArtsWave Presents organization is inviting the community to “Celebrate America.”

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra will perform with incoming conductor John Morris Russell at 7 p.m. Friday, June 10 at Cottell Park. The event is free.

Art activities and giveaways will be provided by various organizations beginning at 5:30 p.m. Organizations include the Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, May Festival, Playhouse in the Park and Cincinnati Opera.

The Northern Cincinnati Youth Orchestra will also perform, playing a wide array of musical selections, including “Slum Dog Millionaire,” featuring local Indian drummers. The NCYO plays at 6 p.m.

The “Celebrate America” concert is the first Pops summertime appearance in Deerfield Twp., according to a release from the Alliance. The program will include bluegrass, jazz, Broadway, rock and more.

Those who attend should bring their own seating of blankets or lawn chairs.
