Cincinnati steakhouse serving dish inspired by Joe Burrow, a future Bengal?

Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse unveiled a new signature menu item for its Downtown restaurant Saturday inspired by Heisman Trophy and national championship-winning quarterback Joe Burrow of the Louisiana State University Tigers

Football experts predict Burrow will be the No. 1 draft pick for the Cincinnati Bengals in April’s NFL draft.

The 16-ounce prime ribeye — “Steak Burrow” — is served with creole crawfish sauce, paying homage to Burrow’s career at Louisiana State.

For each steak sold at the restaurant, located at 700 Walnut St. in Cincinnati, Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse will donate $9 — a reference to Burrow's jersey number — to the Athens County Food Pantry.

During his Heisman Trophy acceptance speech, Burrow spoke about poverty, food insecurity and the Athens County Food Pantry in his hometown of Athens. Following his remarks, the Food Pantry received donations of more than $500,000 dollars in one week, which is more than six times the pantry's annual budget.

The $65 steak was created “in honor of likely @Bengals #1 draftee and his commitment to food insecurity in SE Ohio,” Jeff Ruby, owner and founder of Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment, tweeted. Saturday.

“I was inspired by Joe’s words and that led to Steak Burrow being added to the menu at my downtown Cincinnati steakhouse,” Ruby said in a statement.
