New $825,000 Starbucks coming to Beavercreek

Ground has been broken for a new $825,000 free-standing Starbucks coffee shop near the main entrance to the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek.

“This is a good investment in our community,” said Bruce Goldsberry, general manager of the Mall at Fairfield Commons. “It will offer more choices for customers and will add jobs.”

The new Starbucks — located at 2735 Fairfield Commons Blvd. across from the Max & Erma’s restaurant at the mall’s main entrance — will offer drive-through service in addition to interior seating in a 2,000-square-foot building. A Starbucks spokeswoman said this afternoon that the new coffee shop will hire 15 to 20 employees, and she said the existing Starbucks inside the Mall at Fairfield Commons, which has 15 employees, “will remain open.”

The new location is scheduled to open in early 2014, the company spokeswoman said.

A similar 1,800-square-foot Starbucks that has been under construction at 6252 Wilmington Pike in Sugarcreek Twp. is poised to open, perhaps as early as this week, according to Cara Tilford, Sugarcreek Twp. director of planning and zoning. Starbucks officials declined to release an opening date for the Sugarcreek Twp. location.
