This is why I love Country Music and the artists that make up this genre! This music speaks to people when they are in situations that seem impossible to break free from... Kelsea Ballerini got a letter from a 12-year-old fan, Ellie, who talked about how she is struggling in middle school because other kids say mean things to her. The little girl went on to say that Kelsea’s song “Homecoming Queen” is what gets her through the mean comments and the bullying. The letter was so sweet and your heart breaks for Ellie as you think about your middle school days and relate to how mean kids can actually be. Ellie went on to say that she loves singing and really wanted to try out for America’s Got Talent and she wants to sing Kelsea’s song that helped her.
Kelsea responded to Ellie on social media and talked about how she relates to this situation more than anyone would know... “Hey Ellie from Colorado. I couldn’t find your address to write you back, so I thought I’d respond on here.Middle school was really hard for me too. It’s a time when everyone is starting to discover who they are, it’s awkward and emotional, and unfortunately the way some people feel like they have it together is by tearing other people apart. Try your best to breathe through it and let it roll off of you, and please please remember that it’s not your weight to carry. It will make you stronger and full of grace. I also promise that middle school will be over before you know it. Hang in there, my little homecoming queen. Sending you so much love and light. PS- go try out!!! You have my vote. 💗👑”
