Local TV anchor receives major promotion

A Xenia High School graduate can add a major feather to her cap.

Megan O'Rourke is the new co-anchor of weeknight news at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on WKEF-TV ABC22 and the WRGT-TV Fox45 news at 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Raised in Greene County, O’Rourke earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Miami University.

She joined FOX45 News as a morning news anchor in 2016.

“Getting that opportunity in my hometown is truly a dream come true,” O’Rourke said in a press release. “I’ve spent most of my career in the Dayton area and am so thankful to be able to stay close to my family and loved ones, as well as the city I love.

I will miss my amazing FOX45 News In the Morning co-workers, but I know the show will continue to be a huge success. I know my new role comes with great responsibility.
