Tickets are still available to 37 of this summer’s 38 ticketed shows, with only the June 15 Sheryl Crow/Colbie Caillat concert sold out. The Goo Goo Dolls show was approaching a sellout.
Fraze General Manager Karen Durham said thanks to a strong lineup and allowing earlier ticket sales, Fraze has already sold $1.5 million in tickets this year — $700,000 ahead of last year’s pace.
The schedule includes many older artists who were once A-listers, including Vince Gill, Huey Lewis and the News, Kris Kristofferson, Blondie and Billy Idol, as well as more than a dozen festivals, free shows and community events.
Those accustomed to parking a lawn chair outside the Fraze and just listening to the music will face new restrictions from the city of Kettering this year.
The sidewalks and adjacent grassy areas along both sides of Lincoln Park Boulevard will be no-trespassing areas. City officials cited concern for private property owners’ rights in those areas. Durham said those without tickets can sit near the upper fountain on the commons area, in the grassy area of the Kettering government center or in the park just behind the stage, across Isaac Prugh Way.
Another change for 2010 involves promotional materials that have been handed out at each show in the past. This year, a more detailed 48-page Fraze Spotlight magazine will be available at several spots around the city, but a program booklet will not be handed out at each concert. Sites to find the magazine are listed on the fraze.com Web site.
A small pamphlet listing the concert schedule still will be available at the Fraze.
