Rob Lowe up for People's Choice Award tonight

Dayton's own Rob Lowe is up for a People's Choice Award for Favorite Actor in a New TV Series. You can catch Lowe on FOX's new series "The Grinder," for which he also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Television Series.

Local celebrities, musicians, and locally filmed flicks are raking in the national award nominations this season:

Locally filmed "Carol" leads the Golden Globe nominations ahead of the award show on Jan. 10 Actresses Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara are also up for 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards, whose award show will air Jan. 30.

Rob Lowe recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Three Dayton natives are up for Grammy Award nominations ahead of the award show on Feb. 15, including our past Daytonian of the Week Morgan Taylor.
